Mount Milligan Gold Copper Project $50,000 in Participant Funding Deadline Extended

Mount Milligan Gold Copper Mine Project Availability of $50,000 in Participant Funding Deadline for Applications Extended

OTTAWA – December 4, 2008 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is making available $50,000 under its Participant Funding Program to assist groups or individuals to participate in the environmental assessment of the proposed Mount Milligan Gold Copper Mine Project near McLeod Lake, British-Columbia.

Terrane Metals Corporation proposes to develop a gold-copper mine at Mount Milligan that will process 60,000 tonnes per day of ore, and produce 273,300 ounces of gold and 97 million pounds of copper per year for the first six years of its life. The mining complex will consist of the mine pit, process plant, tailings impoundment area and dams, water intake and diversion systems, access roads, transmission lines, explosives factory and magazine facilities, and other associated mine buildings and infrastructure.

To receive funding, successful applicants must participate in the environmental assessment of the project. This funding is intended for activities that will follow the public consultation currently underway on the scope of the project. Funding applications received at the Agency by December 11, 2008, will now be considered.

Information on the proposed project and on the environmental assessment process is available under reference number 08-03-39778 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in support of sustainable development.
