The Britannia Historical Society, the governing body of the British Columbia Museum of Mining, is a non-profit society. The society was established in 1971 to preserve the material and social history of mining in British Columbia, and to educate the public about mining. It is a registered charity. The Museum offers a diverse selection of special events and changing exhibits, as well as tours of the closed Britannia Mine.
